Obituary of Raymond Joseph Truchon
RAYMOND (RON) TRUCHON
It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond (Ron) Truchon announces his passing at age 87 on August 10, 2021 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Ron was happily married to Mary-Lynn, and was predeceased by his first wife, Teresa (nee LaBine). He was the loving father of Cathy, Christine, Carol (Dave Limoges), Steven (Jennifer Duffy) and Janet (Marc Hamelin), and the proud grandpa of Daniel and Liam Limoges, Holly and Emily Truchon, Eric and Elizabeth Hamelin. The son of the late Archie and MaryAnn (nee Benoit), he is also survived by siblings Theresa (John Ringler – deceased), Rachelle (Bob Agnew - deceased), Fred (Barbara nee Bonany) and Diane (Terry Beauchamp). He was predeceased by brothers Jack (Simone nee Buckner and Rene (Mary nee Buttigeig), and sisters Francis (Roland Hamelin) and Helen. He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, as well as Mary-Lynn’s daughter Laurel Charron (Guy) and their children Kendall Ryan (Matt Foley), McArthy Ryan (Mariah Dempster), Carrington Ryan (Brad Pappano); and Danielle Rivet (Steph) and Marc Charron (deceased) and their “little ones” Charlotte Foley, Elliott Ryan, Remi and Sebastian Rivet, who were very dear to Ron.
Ron had a lifelong love of sports. In his younger years he was an avid fastball player. He continued being active throughout his life by skiing with his family, playing golf and curling. One of his favourite pastimes was boating and spending time at the North Bay waterfront. A long-time employee of Dupont/Fabrene, Ron was a dedicated worker who always brought a sense of humour to the workplace.
Special thanks to Dr. Abeysinghe (Sherry and Pierrette), Dr. Goldfarb, Dr. Vigars in Ron’s last hours, and Dr. Ravi (Sudbury), as well as PSW Annette and Nurses Maggie and Marrissa.
Resilient and devoted to his family, Ron will be deeply missed by all. Visitation will be at the Martyn Funeral Home on Monday, August 16 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 17 at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption.
