BERGHAMER – Theresa Noleen (nee Tackney)

Two days past her 75th birthday, Theresa: wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, died peacefully at Nipissing Serenity Hospice in North Bay with her family by her side. Married to Bruce Robert for 49 ½ years, she was the proud and loving mother of Dr. Jonathon (Krista Haase) of Vancouver B.C., and Jason (Krista Lauzon) of Bonfield ON. She held a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren Keeva Rose, Kaeden, Avikah and Caspian.

Born and raised in North Bay, she was predeceased by her parents Joseph Gilles & Rose Tackney (nee Corbett), and her sister Gail Walsh (Gerry).  She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Judith Anne Krimsky (William) of Willis Texas, and her nieces and nephews Kimberly, Tamara, Fr. Timothy, Shayna, David, and Michael.

For over thirty years, Theresa was a dedicated and caring primary school teacher with the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District school board, retiring in 2001. A devoted Catholic, she was a member of the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption in North Bay. She served on the board of directors of the Crisis Centre in North Bay, was a faithful volunteer at Cassellholme for the Aged, helping with Saturday Masses, and in recent years  directed the Catholic Charities food bank at the Cathedral. She also enjoyed her times as a founding member of the Golden Girls (North Bay branch)!

Per her wishes, Theresa’s body has been cremated., and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday May 7th at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption. Attendance is restricted due to the pandemic restrictions currently in place, and is by invitation only. The service will be live streamed on the Martyn Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 10:00 AM https://fb.me/e/9oVoNRn6O

Bruce and his family extend their most heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ian Cowan, the staff of Nipissing Serenity Hospice, Patty Mulligan, and Debbie Sloss for their kindness, compassion, and support during this difficult time.

Donations in Theresa’s memory to the Catholic Charities Food Bank, https://procathedral.ca/ or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice www.nipissingserenityhospice.ca will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

Please note that attendance at Mass is by invitaton only, due to the current pandemic restictions.
