Roy Bellaire
We are saddened to announce the passing of Roy, born September 22, 1941.
Roy passed away peacefully at the Mattawa Hospital on Wednesday, March 17, surrounded by his loved ones.
He is predeceased by his mother, Julia, Margaret (O’Conner) Bellaire, born March 15, 1900 in Liverpool, England. Stepfather, Joseph Bellaire, born 1897 in Rutherglen, Ontario. Brother Jim, sisters, Rita Wilson, Theresa Stein, Lorraine Gould and Joyce Fortin. He is survived by his goddaughter and caregiver, Glenda Turcotte. His extended family Wendy Ollivier, Tommy Reynolds, Wilma Gravelle and the Langevin family. His friend and caregiver Jeanette Langlois along with many friends.
Roy was loved and treasured by so many and will be fondly remembered by his vibrant, friendly personality. He loved to strike up a conversation and make people laugh with his great sense of humour. He loved decorating for Christmas and all holidays. Christmas shopping for his loved ones was his passion. Roy babysat many children in his younger years and looking after his friend’s animals was a pleasure.
His passions were music, scrapbooking, taking long country drives and most important chatting with people and making them smile.
Roy has found peace and has laid to rest in the arms of God.
We love you so much and will be missed dearly by many.
Visitation for Roy will be held at the Martyn & Sloan “Mattawa Chapel” on Tuesday from 1:00 -3:00 P.M. Due to the current pandemic attendance at the visitation will be by appointment only. Please call the funeral home at 705-744-7400 to schedule a time.
