As his second eldest niece, I also have very fond memories of Uncle Greg spending time with our family as we grew up. In particular, as a gym teacher at Laurentian School learning to dance the Bossa Nova and the Virginia Reel. I remember his big white flood lights mounted on a wooden frame. He took the best 8 millimeter family films.
During the last 3 decades, Uncle and Aunt Judi visited Allan and I in BC several times. We toured the Fraser Canyon, stopping often to enjoy the scenery and the Okanagan valley, where we picked apples and took many photos.
There were a few brief visits, when they both came to BC, and we would only have time for Vancouver tourist attractions and quick dinners with friends. Greg loved Allan’s cooking too. They would play the odd game of tennis and bike ride when we’d come to North Bay on our holidays.
Just like all of you today, Allan & I will miss Uncle’s laughter, his bright smile and of course great-big- hugs.
So to my dear Aunt Judi, my cousins, my Mom, my sisters... we wish we could be there for family support.
Brenda

God speed and God bless, Greg. Dear Judy, Traci and family: I am so saddened to hear of Greg's death. I have only known him these last few years from our Saturday morning gathering at St. Andrew's. I am grateful to have gotten to know him a bit and to appreciate his kindness, his spirit and his wonderful sense of humour. Maggie, likewise, knew him from playing tennis at the Granite Club and has the same memories that I do. You have our sincerest sympathy.

I will never forget Greg. He lived his faith. He was always looking for way to help folks, in a quiet yet very effective way. He was supremely patient with those he worked and lived, non-judgmental, and willing to support those who were on a slower journey.

I have many wonderful and beautiful memories with Mr. Brewer. As a teacher when I was in grade school we had jump rope for heart and he used to jump rope while doing push ups, what?!?! I know we would all crowd around and cheer him on and he would just smile and keep going!!! As a teenager and young adult growing up in the church if I needed a hug I knew exactly where I could go to get one, he gave the best ones he knew how, I’m going to miss those hugs but if any of you need one I have some available. Love Jilly
