LAFONTAINE -  Donald Henry

 

The Lafontaine family are saddened to announce Don’s death on Sunday September 27, 2020.  Don died peacefully with his family by his side at Cassellholme, at the age of 85.  For the past 64 years he has been the beloved and devoted husband of Lorraine (nee Telford).  The proud and loving father of Derrick  he held a special place in the hearts of his grandsons James and Devin.   Born and raised in North Bay Don was predeceased by is parents Harry and Dorothy Lafontaine.  He was the dear brother of Leo (deceased) Margaret Anne, Jacqueline Gagnon (Lorne deceased) Albert (Di) both predeceased, Judith Kingsbury (Ed deceased) and Edward (Janice); and brother in law of George Telford (Norma), Pearl Jackman (Ron),  and Alvin Telford (Claudette), all predeceased, Shirley McKavanagh, & Vernon Telford (Sylvia).  A devoted husband and father Don enjoyed over 40 years as a summer resident at Camp Woodcliffe on Trout Lake. He loved the water and in his younger years fishing.   He will be remembered by many for his 35 plus years career as a sale representative with Sears. Don’s family offer their sincerest thanks to the staff at Cassellholme who have provided amazing care and kindness to him during his time there. In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated.  A private memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Omond Memorial United Church.
