We were very saddened to hear of Peter's passing. We express our deepest condolences to the Randle family. Peter had a tremendous presence at our school especially in Student Services. Students were very fortunate to be guided, advised and encouraged as they faced the challenges of personal growth and academic performance.
We enjoyed the friendly conversations with Helen and Peter as we occasionally crossed paths on our walks.

I know that Peter Randle was well known in the sports world but I would like to be witness to the fact that his reach and impact went much further. I never had him as a coach and as as teacher I was only directly exposed to him in grade 9 phys ed at ACS in 1967. However, from the moment I met him, I was always greeted by name with a smile, an expression of interest and well wishes.
After being away from North Bay from 1972 to 1982 to attend university, he still gave me the same enthusiastic greeting upon my return.
One doesn’t meet a Peter Randle very often. He has been an inspiration to me and I have thought of him often as a guiding force over the years. I know of no one who has impacted me more within the context of the limited contact that was had. To me he has been a father image, a role model, a life coach and a beautiful human being. And he did it all without words really. He did it through the energy expressed in being a genuine, caring, and, most of all, good person.
I don’t know if he ever knew that my father died in 1957 when I was 3, but I would like him to know that he mentored me in regard to what it is to be a man. He was what I thought my dad would have been like, had he lived. They shared interests in hockey, football, community building and people. He may have never have known it but he helped my dad to continue to parent me
As a psychologist I hope I have been successful in sharing a little bit of “Pete” energy with everyone I have met
Thanks Pete for sharing your life spirit and thanks to all of his family members for allowing others of us to share the gift of Peter Randle. I have never forgotten him or the his impact nor will I ever. The world is a better place because of Peter Randle
Thank you
Jeff Phillips

On behalf of the Duval family I would like to express my deepest condolences to Helen,Sue,Jim and the entire Randle family on the loss of your husband ,father ,brother and a respected teacher.I find it very difficult to talk about Mr.Randle in the past tense spending so much time with him and the boys phys Ed department over my 5 years at WFSS.Mr Randle had a passion for teaching not only sports but life as well.He grew up learning from Leo Troy and instilled that in all of us that wore the Green and White!!! He allowed all of us that started high school nervous and unsure with our green shorts and white shirts to navigate through our time on Marshall Park Drive ..with a push or a suggestion he seemed to always give his advice to us...we are all better people for having him cross our path.Thank you for sharing him with us over the years..his mark on West Ferris will never fade .Only now the helmet of the Trojan has lost a bit of the shine as Mr Randle has left us ...till we meet again.Doc,Caroline,Zachary and Marie Duval

I loved Peter's sense of humour, and he seemed to me to be a very gentle soul. I only got to know him at the Caribou Hunt Camp over the past five seasons or so, but he left a lasting impression. What a wonderful guy! I loved to hear him and Fred share stories of the past, stories that got better with age and were imprinted with the personality of the story-teller.I am glad I got to stand in his light and hear his the sound of laugh for the brief time we shared. I miss him already. Gary Vassbotn.

Helen and Family:
My deepest sympathies to you on the passing of Peter.
He was such a huge difference maker to all of his former students and players going back to my A.C.S. days in the late 1960's.
It is amazing how, in my case, our association evolved from teacher to coach to friend over the past 50 years.
I will miss our summer Sunday talks at St. Margaret's.
Rest in Peace Coach and thanks.

Pete was someone who you could always go to for a friendly conversation, a wise word or some practical help. He always seemed able to find the humour in a situation and a solution to a problem. I so appreciated all he did at St. John's (those great Men's Dinners) and even more so who he was--gracious, kind, patient and caring. He is missed but his light shines on eternally. You are all in my prayers.

I was very saddened to learn of the death of Peter. I have known Peter since we were 5 year olds in kindergarten together and continued our school years together.
Peter came to me with comforting words at Martyn’s when my father died. I do wish that there was some way that I could do the same for you.
He was a wonderful person and will be missed by many.
With time your pain will lessen
You are in my thoughts

Peter was my PE Head when I taught at ACS 68 to 70. He gave me lots of room in developing my courses and was very supportive of my coaching football and track. We had lots of fun kibitzing in our tiny office. Have very fond memories of working with Pete, Jimmy, Scratch Mclatch and Steve Harris. Peter was loved by the community and he gave ACS much love back. . Condolences to his extended family.

I have very fond memories of Uncle Pete as I grew up with him on Main St. West. He actually rescued me from a moving front end loader when I was 6 years old, he was out for a run and scooped me up as I was heading towards Lake Nippissing. He then became my Phys-Ed teacher in Grade 9 and my mentor at West Ferris. I was very saddened to hear about his passing and would like to extend my condolences to his family. RIP Mr. Randle.
