Obituary of Elizabeth Joyce Williams
Elizabeth Joyce Williams (nee Hollowell)
May 21, 1922 – April 4,2020
It is with sadness that the family announces the death of Joyce Williams. She will be greatly missed by her children, Brenda (Andy) Barbara, Holly (Ken), Blair (Stephanie) and David (Lori) and her 8 grandchildren, Keegan, Trevor, Nicholas (Leah), Chris, Scott, Rebecca, Sydney and Camryn and her 2 brothers and sisters-in law, Gordon (Donna) Keith (Joan) and 10 nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her infant grandson Robbie, her husband Robert (Bob) Williams and her parents, William (Bill) Hollowell, and Eunice Hollowell
Joyce was born in Toronto Ontario, and attended Keele Street Public School and Humberside High School. She joined the WRENS during WWII and worked as a lab technician in Halifax and Cornwallis. After the war she married and moved to North Bay. While she was raising her family, she was very involved in volunteer work, being one of the first volunteers at the Civic Hospital and Meals on Wheels, and she was active in the churches she attended. She will be remembered as a loving, and caring person, as an avid gardener and for her mouth-watering bread baking ability.
Many thanks to the nurses and staff at Eastholme, the private nursing care of Linda Bishop and to Dr. Ng
A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
Donations in her memory could be made to Calvin Presbyterian Church, The Gathering Place or the North Bay Food Bank and will be gratefully acknowledged.
Arrangements are entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home 464 Wyld Street North Bay
