Obituary of Peter Maxwell Legate
Legate, Peter
Passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday, October 11, 2019 following a short illness at the age of 80. Peter Maxwell Legate was the loving, loyal husband of Susan Legate for 56 years, caring father of Anne and Jane Legate, both predeceased and cherished grandfather of Emily Tambur Douglass (Nikolas) who reside in Sudbury. He is survived by sisters Helen Allen, Seattle, Joan Lounds (John) Collingwood and Pat Meszaros (Guelph). Peter was born and raised in southern Ontario. After exploring many avenues Peter decided to become a psychologist and worked with the North Bay School Board for 18 years. He then went on to design and run a successful software business for over 30 years. Peter was a creative man who strolled to his own beat, loved his summer boating and always enjoyed contributing to a party with his expansive storytelling and enthusiastic guitar playing. He will be missed by his longtime friends, The Fishless Five and the BMWs. The family is grateful for the exceptional care Peter received from Dr. N. Abbeysinghe and staff in CCU and C1, NBRH hospital. Respecting Peter’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service and cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to MARTYN FUNERAL HOME. Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
