David Johnson died peacefully, on Friday October 4, 2019, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. He was in his 77th year. David was the beloved husband of Barbara Johnson (nee Sykes). He was a loving father to Carri Johnson, Patrick Johnson and Tracy Johnson (Eric). Devoted grandfather (Grumpa) to Dylan (Josée), Dextra (Eli), Kamma (Eric), Keyan, Logan (Sierra), Jordan, Tehm, Kazya, Dryden and Alex as well as many others who called him Grampa J. Great Grandfather to Ryder and Kaynnan. He will also be missed by: sisters Betty-Ann Wood (Tony), Marlene Fullerton (Mike), brother Jim Johnson (Pam) and countless nieces, nephew, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. He was greeted in heaven by his  parents Herbert and Easter and brothers Bobby and Billy. David worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital from the age of 17 until he retired. He was very active in the parish of St. John the Divine where he met Barb all those years ago. He also spent many years working with the Canadian Mental Health association; volunteering, sitting on the board and even serving as president. The family would like to thank the staff of the North Bay Regional Health Centre for their care and compassion.
Visitation will take place Thursday October 10, 2019 from 9:30am to 11:00am at St. John the Divine Anglican Church 301 Main St. E. North Bay, followed by a service and reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donations to St. John the Divine or the Canadian Mental Health Association; both of which were close to David’s heart.
