Deslaunais, Paulette Ellen “Momma D” (nee Grice).

Passed away peacefully at her residence in North Bay on Monday March 13, 2019 at the age of 73. Beloved wife of Ivan Deslaunais (predeceased 2004). Remembered by her children Paul Deslaunais (Veronica) of North Bay, Renee Deslaunais-Richards (Dylan) of Macklin, Saskatchewan and Jane Deslaunais. Lovingly remembered as ‘Gramma D’ by her beautiful grandchildren Jenna and Julia Minor, Justin Deslaunais, Jaxsen Deslaunais and Lyn Quiring. Survived by her sister Barbara Stevenson of North Bay. Predeceased by her parents Clara and Gilbert Grice,  brother Charles Grice and sister Doreen Whorley. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews as ‘Aunty Polly’.

Paulette was a remarkably kind woman who had an incredible spirit who could put a smile on anyone's face. She always gravitated to the positive side of life even in the darkest of times. She would never ask for help, but would be the first to offer assistance to anyone in need. She was down to earth, kind, caring and taught us all to love big.

A special thank you to Dr. Brian Buckley, and the incredible nurses, friends and family who supported and guided Mom throughout her journey. We are forever thankful for your compassion and care. If you would like to honor her memory with a memorial donation please consider The Canadian Mental Health Association, Nipissing Regional Branch. Please join us at 11:00 am Friday March 22, 2019 at the MARTYN Funeral home for a memorial service and a reception to follow.
