It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Alan Schmelefske announces his passing. After a battle with cancer, Michael passed away on March 1st, 2019 at the age of 71. Michael will be remembered by his son Zack, his extended family throughout North Bay and area, and the many friends he has made over the years. Michael loved the arts and worked as a Librarian at the College of Cape Breton for 20+ years. Although his light has been extinguished, Michael lives on in the memories of those close to him. Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday afternoon, March 8th , from 1:00pm until time for funeral services, to be held in the chapel, at 2:00pm. Cremation will follow at Forest Lawn Crematorium.
