FRANKLIN (nee Scott), Merlie Joan

It is with heavy hearts that the family of (Merlie) Joan Franklin (nee Scott) announces her passing on February 9th, 2019, at North Bay Regional Health Centre, in her 90th year.   She is survived by her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Franklin. Loving mother of Christopher (Ann), Michael (Lee Anne), and Lollea (Clifford Grey). Cherished grandmother of Martin (Lindsay), Matthew McPhail (James), Kelly (Clayton Massier), and Andrew. Sister to Richard (Dick) Scott (wife Ruth), (both predeceased), and Edward (Ned) C. Scott (wife Joan).

Joan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Her family was always her passion and first priority.  Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always there. Still loved, still missed, still very dear. Truly, God has another angel in Heaven, whose light will shine brightly.

At Joan’s request, there will not be a visitation. A Memorial Service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held at Christ Church, North Bay, on Friday February 22nd at 11am.  Interment will be at St. Paul’s (Grassmere) at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Martyn Funeral Home. Online donations and messages of condolence may be made at www.martynfh.com
