BARTON – Margaret Ann

Passed away peacefully at home on January 24 2019 after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family. Proud mother of Susan and Terry Promane of Aurora and Lisa and Patrick Hickey of Etobicoke. Proud grandmother of Benjamin (Sara) and Lyndsay Promane and Emily, Tommy and Sarah Hickey. Brother to Bill Anderson (Georgie). Marg was predeceased by her husband Bob (2011) and parents Bill and Marjorie Anderson.

Marg began her working career out of high school with Rahn Metals. After many years at home, she re-entered the workforce working for Cambrian Refuelers for many years and was well respected by her colleagues.  Marg lived nearly all her life in North Bay and actively supported many local organizations and initiatives over the years. She was a 52 year member of Beta Sigma Phi, serving in many executive positions. A long-time dedicated member of St. Andrew’s Church, she was an active member of the Friendship Group.  Over the last number of years, she volunteered at North Bay Hospital and, during the summer, at the waterfront carousel.  In her later years, Marg was an active member of the Canadian Club and traveled to many interesting places abroad.   Marg had special friendships with many which she closely cherished, some for over 60 years. She will be dearly missed.

We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Senior, Dr Leckie and their staff for the care provided to Mom over the years and the support given to the family – especially over the last several weeks.

Visitation will be held at Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon from 2 – 5 pm.
