Obituary of Jacqueline Rose Champagne

Don is devastated to announce the death of his beloved wife Jackie, on Tuesday November 6, 2018, at the age of 70 years.  Jackie died peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Center following a brief battle with cancer.  For the past 49 years she has been the beloved and cherished wife of Donald “Don” Champagne. Born in Bonfield she was the dear daughter of the late Aurel and Marie Menard. Jackie will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters Laurette Pepin (Romeo) of Bonfield, Pierre Menard (Carole), and Gerald, both of North Bay, Louise St. Amour (Marc) of Kitchener, Terese Dupuis (Donald), Denis Menard (Holley), Robert Menard (Jeannette), and Aline Shank (Ulysse), all of Bonfield. She was predeceased by her brother Victor.   Jackie will also be fondly remembered by Don’s brothers and sisters Shirley Legros, Anita Sullivan and Alice Dupuis, all of North Bay, Rene Champagne (Linda) of Corbeil, Pauline Allard of Montreal, Jeanine Morris of Vancouver, Richard Poulin and Michael Poulin both of North Bay and Darlene Poulin of Florida. Also predeceased by her brothers in law Lucien, Donat, and Rheal.

 She held a special place in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews.  Jackie always enjoyed a good party and loved to dance. For the past 33 years she and Don have operated North Bay Plastic Molders Ltd., in Corbeil.  She was a devoted fund raiser and bookkeeper for the Northern Ontario Cystic Fibrosis Society for 25 years.  In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated.  Please join with Don and Jackie’s family for visitation at the Bonfield Community Center on Friday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9pm.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Eglise de Sainte Bernadette, Bonfield, at 11 am on Saturday.  Interment of ashes will follow at the Bonfield Cemetery.  If you’d like to honour Jackie with a memorial donation, please consider the Canadian Cancer Society.
