vanVliet – John

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dearly beloved brother John.  He died at the North Bay Regional Center on Friday August 24^th, 2018, while in his 55^th year.  He fought a very short but courageous battle with cancer.

Forever remembered in the hearts of  his brother Robert and his wife Emma,  his niece and godchild Grace, his little sister Ingrid (Andy), nephew Jeffery and his wife Meagan,  his great niece Camryn, whom always lovingly referred to John as “Uncle Pancake”.  John will be sadly missed by his mother Betty and was predeceased by his father Martin. He will also be remembered by his many friends including Nejla, Julia, Carmilla and J.P.

John was a long time employee of Macs Mart Stores here in North Bay.  He formed many friendships through his work and had a large circle of friends including Shari McCormick, Satya Narayana Iyesta, Garry Singh, and Rimmy Kavr.

We offer our special thanks for the compassion and care offered by Dr.’s Fricker and A. Pearce,  and nurses Sierra, Eryn and Robert, of D3, NBRHC.

In keeping with John’s wishes his body has been cremated.  A celebration of his life will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday September 22nd, from 2:00 – 4:00pm.
