Obituary of Gordon Alderson

ALDERSON, Gordon Passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Leisureworld Nursing Home at the age of 88. Dear husband of the late Mary Alderson and son of the late Russell Alderson and the late Agnes Bishop. He is survived by his son Brian Alderson (Marlene) of Redbridge and his daughters: Barbara (Joseph) Stanley of Redbridge and Myrah (Leonard) Stanley. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Cody, Brent, Amanda (Tyler), Jamie (Angela), Linda and David Stanley and his great grandchidren: Dustin, Evan and Olivia. He leaves behind his siblings: Doug (late Dianne) of Callander, Vera (late Joseph) of Detroit, Jean (late Al) of Gravenhurst and sister in law Ellen Alderson of Redbridge and many nieces and nephews. Gord is predeceased by his siblings Vern, Evert, Louie, Russell, Ross, Florence, Eva, Jim and Chester. Family and friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. There will be a Royal Canadian Legion service held Thursday in the chapel at 10:45 a.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 11 am. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
