Obituary of Millicent Olga Lamabe

LAMABE, Millicent Olga (Daly) It is with very great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Millicent, beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted wife. Millicent suffered a Heart Attack and passed away at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday, March 9, 2015 in her 79th year. Millicent was born December 5, 1936, in North Bay, Ontario, the daughter of Stuart J. Daly and Olga L. Jones. In 1952, Millicent married the love of her life John Peter Lamabe and settled in North Bay, Ontario. In addition to raising their seven children she also volunteered her time by running a local bingo charity for the Nipissing Metis Organization. She had a passion that was enduring for her favourite pastime which was Bingo. A devoted mother and homemaker, Millicent enjoyed spending the vast majority of her time with her family and friends Millicent was humble and cherished the simple things in life, so long as her family was around her she was happy and doing okay, and asked very little for herself. She spent her entire life in North Bay and travelled the highways of Ontario but not much further, enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Wendy of Barrie, son Chris (Louise) of Barrie, son Gregory (Johanne Bourgeois) of North Bay, sons Ronald (Melanie) and Donald of Toronto and daughter in law Cindy of North Bay. Predeceased by her husband John Peter Lamabe, son John Leslie and daughter Kimberly Ann, sister Heather Racicot, and brother Garth (Gary) Daly. Sadly missed by 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Survived by sister Murza Van Duesen and brother Leslie Daly. Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm and Saturday afternoon from 2 – 4 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 7:00pm Saturday March 14.
