In Loving Memory of Barbara Anne Peterson Suddenly, yet peacefully surrounded by her family at Health Sciences North (Sudbury Regional Hospital) on Thursday, January 29th, 2015, Barbara Anne Peterson (nee McParland) passed away at the age of 68. Born in North Bay, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Monica McParland (Healy). She is survived by Richard, her loving husband of 46 years. She was a loving mother of Erin Peterson of Canmore, AB and Sean (Glenna) Peterson of Sarnia; adoring grandmother of Joshua and Kiarra Peterson of Sarnia; dear sister of Michael McParland, and caring sister-in-law of Mary Anne McParland, Lillian (David) Lewis of Surrey, BC, Sheila (Richard) Levesque, Wayne (Brenda) Peterson, Beverly (Claude) Roy of Sudbury, Joe (Sue) Peterson, Robert Peterson, Gary (Darlene) Peterson, Brenda (Emiel) Goodreau; and dedicated Aunt of Meghan McParland, Adam McParland, and of Richard's nieces and nephews. Her caring presence at many family dinners will be dearly missed and her grandchildren will forever sing Paddycake, Paddycake, Baker's Man with her voice in their mind. A retired teacher of Kindergarten and Grade one at Tweedsmuir Public School, she thoughtfully touched the minds of many young students. She was a faithful Catholic who regularly attended Holy Name of Jesus Church and recently served as the Catholic Women's League President, Past-President, and Funeral Luncheon Organizer. As a chairperson of the Calling Team of District 41 of the Retired Teachers of Ontario, she dedicated herself to ensuring that an efficient and organized calling structure was in place for the dissemination of information. The family wishes to extend their most sincere appreciation for the compassionate care received by the North Bay & District Ambulance Service paramedics; Dr. Daley and staff at the North Bay Regional Hospital Emergency Room; and Dr. Dimarchie, Dr. McKechnie, Dr. Stanley, ICU nurses Rachel, Hailey, Lee Anne, Nicole, Sue, and staff at Health Science North Intensive Care Unit. Family and friends may pay their respects at Martyn Funeral Home, 464 Wyld Street, North Bay, on Saturday, January 31st from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, February 1st from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church, Memorial Drive, on Monday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. with luncheon in church hall. Barbara's wish to be cremated will be honoured. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Nipissing Serenity Hospice, 705-474-4236. Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
