Obituary of Robert Kennedy

Kennedy, Robert Arthur John "Bob" Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre in his 86th year on Tuesday December 30, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. Bob was the beloved partner and best friend of Sheila Richardson. Bob was the proud and loving father of Tim Kennedy (Nancy) of Port Hope, Ontario, Barbara Walsh (Paul) of Sarnia, Ontario and Peter Kennedy of North Bay. He was the cherished grandfather of Marianne, Nicholas (Tayla), and Emily Kennedy and Kelly and Bobby Walsh and great-grandfather of Rylee Walsh. Bob will be sincerely missed by the children's mother Dorothy Kennedy (nee Kelly). Bob was predeceased by his parents William and Lauraine Kennedy. Bob will be fondly remembered by Sheila's children, David Richardson, Judi Catania, and Cathie Valente and Sheila's five grandchildren (Cameron, Sarah, Bianca, Noah, and Mitchell). Bob retired from the ONR after 44 years of service, first as a carman and then in several management positions including health and safety. An avid skier, Bob was instrumental in the development of both the Laurentian Ski Hill and Mount Antoine. He helped run the Ski Patrol at both hills and enjoyed many ski trips to Whistler, British Columbia. Family will receive friends at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Interment will be in the spring. Donations to either the Alzheimer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada will be greatly appreciated.
