Obituary of Robert Young

YOUNG, Robert Andre (1939-2014) Bob passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Loving husband of Catherine, proud devoted father of Christine (Paul Lamont) and Brad, dear brother of Nina Harvey, brother-in-law to Catherine's siblings, and Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bob was born in London, Ontario. He began his career with the Bata Shoe Company, later working with Coles Books, and Canadian Longyear, before spending over 30 years as Director of Human Resources for the City of North Bay. Bob then became the CEO and sole employee of Human Resources and Labour Relations Consulting Services, for over a decade providing his expertise to Municipalities and Organizations throughout Northern Ontario. Bob was an active and lifetime member of the Ontario Municipal Human Resources Association. Bob volunteered with a variety of organizations, and spent countless hours lending a hand whenever he was asked, or wherever he saw the need. In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed playing a game of bridge, his daily crossword and cryptoquote, golfing, and puttering about the family home on Trout Lake. He enjoyed woodworking, and would often be found with Brad working shoulder to shoulder on some new and challenging project. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. John Andrews for his care and steadfast support to Bob and the family. Visitation will be at Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 1 to 4 pm, and Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 1 to 2 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. Donations to Nipissing Serenity House or a charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
