Obituary of Gerald John Colbourne

Gerald John Colbourne-Born November 15th 1925 Passed away peacefully in hospital on Wednesday November 26th 2014 after a brief illness with family by his side. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Irene Colbourne (née Groulx). He was a loving father to Anne Latendresse (James) and to Brian Colbourne (Louise). Proud grand-father of Jill Wrathall (Steve), Curtis Colbourne (Roxanne) and Justin Colbourne as well as great grand father to Roch and Zach Huot. Gerald was the dear brother of Lola Bedard, Clifford Colbourne and Raymond Colbourne. Predeased by siblings Leonard Colbourne, Donald Colbourne, Russell Colbourne, Dorothy Larose and Gladys Perselle. He will be sadly missed by all. Gerald started working in the forestry industry at the age of fifteen, first as a bookeeper on the Dumoine in Quebec, then as safety supervisor and finally as scaler, a career he began at the age of 65. He was an avid coin collector. He also enjoyed working around his home in Mattawa Ontario. Gerald was 89 years old. A memorial service will be held at St. Anne's Church on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium. Interment will be held at St. Anne's Cemetery.
