Dave was a true gentleman and kind man. I served on the Humane Society Board of Directors with him as well as knew him as the Bell guy when he was called to Ontario Northland for phone issues. He was such a nice man. My deepest condolences on your loss.

Dave was such an interesting person who was always giving back to his community. I remember working with him and Sue on the East Ferris Community policing committee. Once when we were at a meeting in S.S Marie, the OPP had a demonstration on the lie detector unit, Dave jumped at the chance to participate. He was able to outwit the system much to the surprise of the operator. I later learned that Dave had a life long fascination with lie detectors. There was always something unique about Dave. Our sympathy to Sue and family.

We often refer to "The Threads of Life or The Ties That Bind" in our memories of others. In our case, "The Thread" was a thin wire that became the "Tie" to bind. Who would have thought that a repair call to Bell would have set in motion a 35 year (plus) journey for two model railroad enthusiasts. Dave's humour, willingness to share whatever knowledge he had on the subject at hand and volunteer at the drop of the hat were his trademarks in life. Without his humour, business meetings at the Railway Club would have been pretty boring at times. His wealth of knowledge and his extensive collection of books on the world of railroads encouraged others to ask questions and Dave would willingly share or research the answer for them. His pride of workmanship was outstanding in everything he attempted. He believed in the saying "If it's worth doing, then it's worth doing it right". His attention to details crossed over from work to home and to his hobbies. We will miss you Dave. Our condolences go out to Sue and her family, Dave's father and sisters
God Bless
Peter & Aime

Dave Lowther, was a man of unquestionable integrity, honesty and grace. His beautiful life has touched many people. He was the kind of individual who showed the world through his actions of everyday life, what it meant to be a man, a husband a father and a friend. I will always remember him as being so full of life and joy. Dave truly was the kind of person that made you want to become better than yourself, just by spending time with him. And he usually made you smile and laugh in the process. He will be truly missed, but his mark on the world will not be forgotten. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep, I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glint on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the autumn rain, When you wake in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, Of bird circling in Flight, I am the stars that shine at night, Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. - Author unknown
