Dalton John Carmichael Obituary
The family of Dalton Carmichael wish to announce his passing on Tuesday July 21, 2026, at the age of 89 years. Dear husband of Karen (née McGowan) for 63 years. Loving father of Sandra Fortier (Michael) of Sudbury, Catherine Toste of West Kelowna, B.C. and Rebecca Leclair (Denis) of Ottawa. Sadly missed by grandchildren Zander Fortier, Stephanie Fortier, Amanda Toste, Dani Leclair, Cheri Leclair and great grandson Zayn Fortier. Predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Tony Dube.
Dalton spent many years in service to others, volunteering with different organizations. He was an avid 10 pin bowler, playing, teaching and coaching, which is where he met his wife (she bowled him over!) He also had an interest in Scouting where he led a local group through Scouts, Ventures and Rovers. Many will remember Dalton as a very active member of Emmanuel United Church for over 60 years, participating in various committees.
Respecting Dalton’s wishes, cremation will take place. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday July 25 from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am. If desired donations to Emmanuel United Church or Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be appreciated.
