Bouthillier, Raynald "Trans Am"

November 1, 1957 – June 18, 2026

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Raynald "Trans Am" Bouthillier, at the West Nipissing Hospital on Thursday, June 18th, 2026.

He was the devoted husband of 36 years to Elaine (née Dénommée), at the age of 68. Proud father of Michelle Hamel (husband Claude), and the late Jack Bouthillier. Cherished grandfather of Audrée & Cédrick Hamel.  Dear brother of Guy Bouthillier, Marie-Paul Bouthillier, Johanne Bouthillier Ouellet (André), Linda Provencal, Bernard “Ben” Bouthillier (Janine), and Sylvain Bouthillier.  Raynald will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.  He was the steady presence his family could always count on. His love, guidance, and unwavering support were gifts that will be remembered and treasured forever.

Known to many simply as "Trans Am," Raynald had a lifelong love of the open road. A proud long-haul truck driver, he took great pride in his work and especially admired the iconic Peterbilt. He was equally passionate about his Harley-Davidson and treasured the many adventures he shared with his friends and family, traveling throughout Northern Ontario and the United States.

Following the heartbreaking loss of his son, Jack, in Afghanistan, Raynald became a devoted supporter of Canada's military. He proudly wore red every Friday in honour of our troops and never missed an opportunity to show his respect and gratitude for those who serve.  A man of strong faith, Raynald found comfort and peace in his final days. His faith sustained him throughout life's challenges and now it brings comfort to those he leaves behind.  Friends and family are invited to call at Fournier Funeral Home (715 Edward Street, Hearst, Ontario) on Friday, June 26th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and again from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.  Funeral Service will take place at Assemblée Chrétienne de Hearst at 4 p.m.  Interment at Monseigneur Pierre Grenier Cemetery, Hearst.  Online condolences may be left at www.martynfh.com. A man who spent much of his life on the road, Raynald has taken his final journey and now rests in eternal peace.
