Waye, Susan Louise

Passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, after a long illness, which she faced with quiet strength.

Susan will be fondly remembered by her brothers, David Waye (wife Connie) and Ron Waye (wife Mary). She was a dear aunt to George Waye (wife Misty), Chris Waye (wife Samiyah), and Kirsten Vanderwel (husband Adrian), and great-aunt to nine great-nieces and nephews.

Sue had a special love for her cats, who were constant companions throughout her life. She was a familiar and friendly face at the Legion, where she volunteered with the Ladies’ Auxiliary, and she enjoyed many evenings playing darts in her league. Sue had a deep appreciation for classic films and could easily share fascinating movie trivia, along with her love of music from the 1950s and 1960s.

She was fortunate to experience many memorable travels alongside her late mother, June, visiting places such as Egypt, Greece, England, and Mexico—adventures she spoke of often and fondly.

A graveside service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens, North York, on Tuesday, April 28th,  2026 at 1:00 p.m., where Susan will be laid to rest with her parents, June and George Waye.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.
