Marlene White

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marlene White, who peacefully left us on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Nipissing Manor. She was a loving mother, cherished friend, and vibrant soul who brought joy to everyone she met.

Marlene is survived by her devoted sons, Dan (Cher) White and Steven (Grace) White, and her beloved grandchildren, David (Kristen) White and Jamie (Tess Macpherson) White. She also had the pleasure of being a great-grandmother to Abby and Ayla Wright. Marlene shared a special bond with her sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and John Besley, and her good friends Don and Alice Brose. She was predeceased by her mother, Colleen Byrnell, and stepfather, Cecile Byrnell, and her father, Leonard Mallinson.

Marlene enjoyed a fulfilling career as an administrative assistant with the Nipissing Board of Education, where she touched the lives of many. She had a passion for life that was evident in her love for spending time at the cottage on Trout Lake with her family, traveling the world, and tending to her beautiful garden as a Heritage Gardener. Music and dance were integral parts of her life, especially Elvis, which always brought a smile to her face. In her younger years, she relished boating on Lake Nipissing, reading, and enjoying winter holidays in Florida.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Nipissing Manor for the exceptional care and kindness they showed to Marlene during her time there.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of your choice in Marlene’s honour.
