It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Galan on January 6, 2026. After navigating dementia and lung cancer, Dennis passed quickly and peacefully, free from pain.

Dennis was a man of immense talent and tireless work ethic. In his earlier years, he kept Toronto moving as an operator for the TTC, driving everything from Buses to Subways. Later, he dedicated over 30 years of service to the City of North Bay.

Beyond his career, Dennis was a true artist with his hands. An excellent wood craftsman, he poured his patience and skill into creating beautiful bedroom furniture and dining room tables—heirlooms that his family will cherish for generations. In his retirement, he enjoyed his "golden years" as a snowbird in Country Park, Clearwater, enjoying the golf course and the Florida sun.

Dennis was a devoted husband of quiet strength. His passing follows the loss of his beloved wife, Marilyn, by only two months. While we mourn him, we find deep comfort in knowing that he is with Mom now. 

Dennis is survived by his sons, Brian (Tracie) and Gary (Lucette); and his siblings, Brother Dosce Galan, Sister Cathy McMillan, and Brother Donald Galan. He also leaves behind a remarkable legacy of 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Visitation for Dennis will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at the Martyn Funeral Home (464 Wyld St. North Bay), a Memorial Service will follow in the Martyn Funeral Chapel at 12:00pm
