September 22, 1948 – December 20, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of James "Jim" Jolley, surrounded by his loving family, on December 20th, 2025, in his 78th year.

Jim was the cherished husband of Ruth (Bazinet) for 55 wonderful years. He was the proud and supportive father of Mary-Beth (Kent Moir), Vanessa (David Sloan), Mandy (Paul Desrosiers), Joshua (Melissa), and Laurie (Todd Moir). His greatest joy was spending time with his sixteen adored grandchildren—Ryan, Andrew, Ben, Emily, Hannah, Jack, Brooklyn, Noah, Nick, Leo, Rachel, Raegan, Christina, Preston, Kolton, and Dexter—and his precious great-granddaughter, Miss Gracie, all of whom were the light of his life. 

He is predeceased by his loving parents, James and Sarah. His devoted and loyal siblings, Bob (Joyce) and Sherri (Mike), will dearly miss their big brother along with, his many brothers- and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of close friends.

Known affectionately to many of his grandchildren as "Bad Grampa," Jim had a wonderful sense of humour. His family and friends will forever cherish his witty and playful banter and amazing jokes. The joy he found in being with his loved ones created a wealth of wonderful memories for which his family is eternally grateful. 

In retirement, Jim pursued his passion for golf, enjoying regular rounds with his good friends Dave, Larry, Ian and Don. He could always count on Ian to be his most amused and encouraging audience for a good joke.

The family is filled with gratitude for the thoughtful, empathetic, and compassionate care provided by Dr. Jinnah, including a home visit, which ensured Jim’s last days were spent in comfort. They also extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Lougheed, the dedicated nurses in Urgent Care, and the exceptional team on A3 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for their great care.

Friends and family may pay their respects at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Monday, December 29th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m, available via Live Stream here. There will be a reception immediately following the service. 

It is fitting that Jim passed during the Christmas season, his most wonderful and favourite time of the year. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pro Cathedral Roof Fund or the North Bay Food Bank would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.martynfh.com.
