We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Lynda, who died suddenly on November 7th at the North Bay Regional Health Centre after a brief battle with cancer. She was 78 years old.

Lynda was predeceased by her husband, Gord, in 2004. She is survived by her beloved children Robert (Kelly), Lindsay, Melissa (Lane), and Russell (Jess), and by her cherished grandchildren Chelsea (Kyle), Alasca, Brooklyn, Isabella, and Liam.

Lynda spent her career caring for others, working at Kmart, Zellers, and later at ParaMed as a Personal Support Worker until her retirement in 2020.

Lynda was known for her caring, thoughtful, and generous spirit. She never arrived at a gathering without a sweet treat to share and was always ready with a warm hello and easy conversation. Fiercely independent, she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She had a sharp sense of humour, loved to laugh, and took great joy in time spent with family and friends. Lynda had a passion for gardening and was known for having the most beautiful flower gardens.

Although she would deny it, Lynda was drawn to spoiling every pet in the family, treating them as lovingly as her own grandchildren. She got tremendous joy in her routine with the cats, giving them much affection and extra treats when no one was looking.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Lynda’s dear friends Geri Caruso-Grant, Alice Lamport, and Margaret White whose ongoing friendship and unwavering support meant so much to her during her illness. The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to the ER staff, especially Dr. Blackadar and nurses Ricky and Hayden for the care and compassion shown to Lynda in her final days.

As per moms wishes cremation has taken place, and there will be no funeral. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
