Obituary of Marilyn Myrtle Galan
It is with deep sadness that the family of Marilyn Galan announces her passing. Born on November 9, 1948, Marilyn was the cherished daughter of the late Harvey and Myrtle Miller.
Marilyn’s life was defined by the deep love and pride she had for her family. Known for her wonderful sense of humor and her passion for golf, she lived life fully and with a ready smile.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis Galan.
Marilyn was the loving mother of Brian Galan (Tracie) and Gary Galan (Lucette).
She will be deeply missed by her siblings: Evelyn and Robert.
Marilyn was predeceased by her siblings Lorne, Lorna, and Ray.
Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her seven grandchildren and her sixteen great-grandchildren—a remarkable legacy of love that brought her immense happiness. Brian and Tracie blessed her with four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, while Gary and Lucette gave her three beautiful granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
Marilyn will be profoundly missed, but her warm spirit, infectious laughter, and the love she instilled in her family will live on.
A Memorial Visitation for Marilyn will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:00am – 12:00pm at the Martyn Funeral Home (464 Wyld St. North Bay), a Memorial Service will follow in the Martyn Funeral Chapel at 12:00pm. The service will be available by Live Stream here.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Marilyn Galan. My Mom Marilyn Galan had a deep appreciation for the sport of golf and the positive impact it has on young lives. Therefore, all donations will be directed to the Highview Golf Course in Powassan ON, in support of their Youth Golf Program. Donations will help provide equipment, lessons, and access to the course for aspiring young golfers, keeping her passion for the game alive.
