Stewart, Claire Alice Marie

Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Saturday, October 18th, 2025.

Beloved wife of John Stewart. Cherished mother of Shane Debassige (Candice) and Zachary Debassige (Stephanie Kramp). Proud and loving mémère of Shaylee, Zoe, and Kash Debassige, and great-grandmother of Myles Côté. Claire will be deeply missed by her sisters Lola Simard and Caroline Smitten, and by her faithful fur babies, Manderine and Archie.

Twelve years ago, Claire and her family received the incredible gift of time through a liver transplant at Toronto General Hospital — a gift for which they remained forever grateful. Those precious extra years allowed her to share more laughter, love, and memories with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Claire had a creative spirit and a love for all things artistic. She found joy in restoring old furniture, painting rocks, and crafting beautiful pieces through her paper tole and other arts projects. Her kindness, warmth, and creativity will continue to live on in those who loved her most.

Cremation will take place at Forest Lawn Crematorium.
