Diane Giroux-Northrup

1956-2025

With heavy hearts, our family announces the passing of Diane, after a strong but short battle with cancer. Predeceased by her loving husband, Murray Northrup, Diane was the special mother to Krista Northrup who was a huge love of her life, her best friend, her rock, and her world. She will be sadly missed by her furry baby, Lily. Diane is also predeceased by her parents Cécile Devost and Joseph Giroux, as well her brothers Patrick (Élise - deceased) and Marcel (Rita), and her sister Rollande (Steve). She is survived by her siblings Lionel (Carmen), Raymond, Ronald (Pauline), Vitale and Suzanne Goulet (Mike). 

Diane was the owner and operator of her home daycare where she looked after and cared for many little hands over the years. Diane was a very caring mom to all of her pets, and was a special friend and aunt to many.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stephanie Moreau as well as Gen (owner/pharmacist of Shoppers Drug Mart on Josephine) for both going over and above to ensure Diane’s comfort and that not only Diane but the family was looked after during this difficult time. The family would also like to extend gratitude to Gess, Diane’s very kind and caring nurse during her final weeks.

As per Diane’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Diane, the family asks for donations to be made to The Northern Cancer Care Fund through Health Science North towards cancer research and helping others battling cancer like Diane did.
