Art Bossert Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Art Bossert on October 1, 2025, in his 91st year, surrounded by his loving family. He left us peacefully, on his own terms, after a life well-lived.

Art proudly served for over 32 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). After retiring, he embraced life to the fullest—whether it was fishing, hitting the casino, or just spending time with his family and friends.  In his younger days, he loved curling, golfing and moose hunting, nowadays you could find him in the garage cheering on the Edmonton Oilers or the Toronto Blue Jays with his sons.

Friday nights were the highlight of Art’s week, spent chatting and sharing laughs with his neighbours on Judge Avenue. He cherished the weekends he spent at the Bossert Family Lodge with his kids and grandkids and enjoyed traveling the world until he reached the age of 89.

He leaves behind his beloved children, Garry (Kat), Bob (Gerry), David (Mary), Pam (Dave), Doug (Chantal), Roderick (Ronda), Dean (Tanya) and stepson Christopher (Kat). Art was also a proud grandpa to 22 grandchildren and a wonderful great-grandpa to 20 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his siblings Ken (Marilyn), Arlene (Garry), and Deanna (Art), predeceased by his brother Don (Thelma) and his parents Vera and Alfred.

Art had many special friends, including Myles Brown, Danny Vanamburg, and Carmen Johnson.

He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Bossert and his partner Nicole Ripley and their two golden retrievers, Bailey & Berwyn.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jinnah, Dr. Seguin, Dr. Leckie, and the amazing staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for their compassionate care.

A private celebration of life has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Art’s memory may be made to the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Art lived life to the fullest and had fun until the very end—we hope every night is Friday night up there!
