DELL (nee Comfort): Evelyn Florence

It is with heavy hearts that the Dell family announces the passing of matriarch Evelyn Florence. Evelyn passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 with her family by her side. Evelyn joins her husband of 67 years Harold Frank Dell, who predeceased her in 2014.

Evelyn was a devoted and loving mother to her children, Tom (Patricia Ringuette), Bonnie (Marty McPhail), Don (Susan Diegel), Allan (Donna Murdy), Stuart (Kelley Millage), and Shawn (Judy LeClair).

She will be forever missed by her 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by sister Mae Robbins of Vineland, ON and many nieces and nephews in Southern Ontario.

Evelyn’s parents Clifford and Gertrude Comfort and brother, Russell predeceased her many years ago.

Long time family friends Bob and Donna, Kelly, Kay, Denise, Fern and Claudette with whom Evelyn has had many fond memories.

Evelyn was involved in many organizations during her 63 years in North Bay including Tweedsmuir Home and School, the West Ferris Arena committee that initially arranged its construction and the many activities in its upper hall. Evelyn was a life member of the West Ferris Ladies Recreation, a member of Branch 23 Royal Canadian Legion and a member of the 183 Club.

She was employed by Bell Canada and Farquhar Construction, PortaRoom division.

For many years Evelyn was active with the recreation and gardens of MacKay Homes which is where she resided for thirty plus years.

The family thanks son Shawn and his partner Judy LeClair for the tender care and attention paid to Evelyn in her later years. Also, thanks to the medical teams of North Bay Regional Health Centre for their care.

Evelyn prefers a donation to a charity of choice in lieu of flowers.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
