Dorothy ‘Dot’ Phillips

January 17, 1927 – September 7, 2025

With broken hearts, we share that our adored mom, gramma and great-gramma has passed at the age of 98.  She would be 99 in January and hoped to reach 100. 

Dot was the last surviving sibling of the Meeking clan: Eva, Ted, Elsie, Hilbert and Linton. 

She was a single mother raising Peggy Richardson (John) and Debbie Rogers, working in the finance department of the former Nipissing Board of Education. 

Dot’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, Greg (Cathy) Richardson, Sara Richardson, Michael Rogers, Melissa Rogers (Jamie), Adam & Josh Hodgeson. AND her great-grandchildren, Tyler (predeceased), Brett, Cameron, Zachary, Gauge, Wynter and Phoenix.

Dot was a faithful member of Christ Church, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 and the Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, crocheting and swimming. Her handmade creations, stitched with patience and love, remain treasured keepsakes for her family and friends.

Dot had a generous, selfless, and courageous heart, and she gave of herself freely to help anyone in need. Her love for family and friends was evident in all she did.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kind spirit lives on in her children and grandchildren, who will carry her legacy forward.

Dot’s family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday, September 14th, from 12noon until time for a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow in the Meeking family plot at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery.
