Oskar Wilhelm Nopper Obituary
It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Oskar Nopper on September 2, 2025 in his 92nd year at the North Bay General Hospital . Predeceased by his loving wife, Erika and cherished father of Antje, Michael, Klaus, Nancy and Thomas and fondly remembered by all his nieces and nephews.
Oskar was born in Gutach, West Germany in 1933. In 1960, he made the decision to immigrate to Canada with his family and we ended up living in North Bay. Oskar was a longtime member of the Norm Mauro orchestra. He played the tenor sax and clarinet….and wow, could he play.
Being an experienced brick layer, he moved his family to Calgary where he worked on several large projects in the downtown core and then continued to build homes in the NW.
Years later, he decided that golfing on a daily basis was a “good thing”!
