SOMERVILLE, Pamela Marguerite Leah (nee Bennett)

Pamela was the daughter of Harold and Ivy Bennett (deceased).
Born in Harrow England March 26th, 1937, and sister of Clive (Susan) and loving mother to Steven (Pauline) and Philip (Debbie). Nanny “P” to granddaughter Brittney and step mum to Kerry (Stephen), Tim (Laural deceased) and Dawson (Lara), Nanny Pam to Hannah, Megan, Mackenzie, Zoe & Hunter.
Pam came to Canada in 1959 to teach at the new mining town of Manitouwadge from 1959-1961 and later for the South Peel Bd. Of Education in Port Credit and later teaching adult art classes at Cedar Ridge Studio/Gallery Scarborough.
She came to North Bay in 1986 and began painting as a full-time artist, expressing her love of the land and all its diverse patterning. She married Dr. Don Somerville in 2005 and together they spent wonderful times sketching and painting much of Canada, especially the N.W.T. that was dear to their hearts.
A Memorial Service for Pamela will be held on Friday, September 5th, 2025 at Trinity United Church North Bay at 11:00am.
Committal to follow at Union Cemetery North Bay.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pamela’s memory may be made to Trinity United Church, Nipissing Serenity Hospice, or a Cancer Society in your area.
