Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Sword

Margaret Elizabeth Sword passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Temiskaming Hospital New Liskeard, Ontario in her 97th year.

She was born on December 7, 1928, in Thorah Twp, Gamebridge, Ontario to her parents Ronald and Elizabeth McEachern.

She is survived by her son Peter, New Liskeard, her daughter Jill, of Toronto and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret is predeceased by her husband Donald, her daughter Judith, her parents Ronald and Elizabeth McEachern, her sisters Alice McEachern, Barbara Bertram, Katherine Russell, plus many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She moved to North Bay in 1956 and eventually worked at CFB North Bay until retirement in 1991.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home (464 Wyld St. North Bay) on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 10:30am – 11:00am followed by a Memorial Service in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am.

The family would like to thank the staff of Temiskaming Lodge and Temiskaming Hospital for the care they provided over the last year and a half.

Donations to Calvin Presbyterian Church, North Bay Regional Health Centre, or Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged by the family as expressions of sympathy.
