Edward Frank Vitunski Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of Edward F. Vitunski, 85, of North Bay, shares his passing on May 16, 2025, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family, along with Pastor Jason McCutcheon, and the kind and supportive medical team.

Ed was born on September 10, 1939, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, to Barbara and Stephen Vitunski, and grew up alongside his older brother, Stephen. He and Carol Hall of Sundridge, were married in 1966, and raised their four children in North Bay: Eddy, Andy, Erin and Alyson.

Ed started in radio sales before joining North Bay Hydro, where he worked for 30 plus years, retiring at age 62. In retirement, Ed enjoyed working on various projects in the Laurentian Wesleyan Church with his buddies.

Ed is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol, his children, Eddy (Nubia), Andy (Penny), Erin (Matt) and Alyson (Jay). Ed cherished every moment with his four grandsons, Mackenzie, Jake, James and Thomas. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Stephen.

A graveside service will be held for Ed at the Strong Cemetery in Sundridge, Tuesday June 24th at 11 am, with lunch to follow at The Ridge Golf Club at noon. The family invites everyone, friends and neighbours old and new to join us and share memories of Ed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s name may be made to Laurentian Wesleyan Church and the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
