Scanlon, Richard “Rick”

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard “Rick” Scanlon at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday, May 9, 2025.

Rick was the beloved husband and best friend of Lorraine Scanlon (née Boyer), in his 68th year. He will be deeply missed by his cherished fur baby, Whiskey, who brought him endless joy and companionship.

He was predeceased by his beloved bichons, Baileys and Darbys, his parents, Donald and Barbara Scanlon, and by his sister & brother-in-law, Joan & Steve McGerrell. He will be fondly remembered by his nephew, Ryan McGerrell.

Rick found his greatest peace at the cottage on the south shore of Lake Nipissing with Lorraine. It was his favourite place to be, and where his ashes will be lovingly scattered. 

Those who knew him will remember his quiet strength, warm heart, and deep love for nature and animals.  In keeping with Rick’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
