Obituary of Sylvia Nancy Franchi

Sylvia Nancy Franchi (nee Rewakowsky) passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday May 8^th, 2025, at the age of 86 with family by her side. A beloved mother to three children, she was born in Canora, Saskatchewan on April 3, 1939. A nurse for over 30 years, Sylvia lived a rich, full life and touched the lives of many others. She was an avid golfer, curler, bridge player and world traveller, who in her spare time enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading. As a life-long Toronto Maple Leafs fan, we know she will be cheering them on from above. Survived by her children Jeff (Lori) of Guelph, Vicki, and Lara (Aubrey) of Toronto. She is also survived by her grandchildren Alicia, Emily and Mason. Predeceased by her husband, Norm. A memorial service will be held at Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday May 15^th at 1 pm with a small reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sylvia’s memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation. Sylvia’s family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude for the wonderful care and compassion shown by the entire CCU team at NBRHC.
