Cynthia O'Hare

Obituary of Cynthia Lou O'Hare

It is with great sadness that the family of Cindy shares her passing at Nipissing Serenity Hospice on Saturday, April 19th. Cindy successfully battled cancer in 2017 but unfortunately lost her most recent battle.

Cindy leaves behind her two sons Alex (Stephanie) and Callum. Her sons were her pride and joy and being a mother was the most natural thing to her. When she became a mother in law to Stephanie she reveled in the joy of having a daughter. Another special bond to enhance her life. She also leaves her new born grandson AJ whom the family is so thankful she was able to meet before her passing.

She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her sister AnnaMary McGuinty and her niece Averie McGuinty.

Cindy, so full of love to give, took on the role of surrogate Yaya to Logan and Jason Sookram. Her influence on their early years will forever be a part of who they become.

Cindy was predeceased by her mother Eva Wardlaw (nee Mitchell), her father Everett McGuinty, step father Bruce Wardlaw and her brother Philip McGuinty.

Cindy grew up in North Bay and attended West Ferris Secondary School and Canadore College. She settled in the Toronto area after college and worked several jobs involving restaurant work, administration and book keeping. In 2004 she returned to North Bay and began her second career as a successful book keeper and property manager. During that time she helped many start small businesses in town. Anyone who she took on as a client soon realized how lucky they were to have her expertise guiding them.

She was a loving dog mom to Lucky, Tara, Hailey and Tripp and had an immense love of animals. As a child Cindy was always bringing home a bird with a broken wing or baby rabbits that needed to be cared for.

Visitation will be held at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday April 25, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, donations to All-Heart Pet Rescue or Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be greatly appreciated and acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
