Obituary of Robert Vernon Burke
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother and friend , Robert Vernon Burke, who passed away on April 8, 2024 at the age of 74. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Robert, affectionately known as Bob, was born to Vernon and Claire Burke on June 16, 1951, in North Bay, Ontario. Bob is survived by his siblings Daniel (Ruth), Suzanne (Eugene), and Patricia, as well as, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
Bob enjoyed music and had an incredible memory for songs, titles and artists. Ever the friendly, gentle spirit, animals were drawn to him. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed the great outdoors…camping, fishing, boating, campfires.
Most of all, Bob loved being a part of gatherings…surrounded by his family - joking and laughing easily . His eyes and smile ‘lit up a room’.
A special thank you goes to the staff - his ‘family’ at the Nipissing Manor where he resided for ten years. You gave our Bob a sense of community and belonging. We are very grateful for your love and support for our Bob. He was so happy living with you - he felt he was home.
