Stevens Douglas Horton Obituary

Steve Horton, born on April 6, 1943, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on February 20, 2025, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre after a recent diagnosis of Kidney Failure and Pneumonia.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Mary Lou (nee O'Connor), his son Michael, daughter Laura, son-in-law Giles (Nadine), his sister Linda Thomas (Geoff-deceased), and his niece Andrea and nephew Mark. Steve also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Avery, Gavin, and Bryson.

Steve dedicated his career to practicing Law in Sudbury, leaving a lasting impact on many. In his leisure time, he found joy at the Caribou Hunt Club and took pride in his property on Trout Lake.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ben, Ginette, and all the compassionate nurses in Critical Care at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, as well as to Dr. Shulman, Dr. Harman, and all the friends who provided comfort during Steve's final days.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held to honour Steve's memory, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
