Obituary of Roger Barry Wayne Ogletree

Please share a memory of Roger to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With extreme sadness, we regret to announce the passing of Roger Barry Wayne Ogletree.  He passed peacefully on February 19th,2025 at the Nipissing Manor Long Term Care Facility. He was the beloved husband to Dawn Ogletree (nee Adams) for 55 years.  He is survived by his Children, Brent Ogletree and Glenn Ogletree (Melody), as well as his grandchildren Ty Ogletree, Kaydance Ogletree, Jack Ogletree and Kole Ogletree.  He joins his parents Hilda Ogletree and William Rank as well as his adopted father Garland Ogletree in eternal Rest. Roger was also predeceased by his sister Gaylen Ogletree and his brother Robert Ogletree.

Roger had immense pride in the town in which he raised his family; Mattawa, Ontario. Being the owner of the Mattawa House and Tavern for 22 years he was known as more than just a friend. To so many, he was the father like figure or the man who would give you the shirt off his back and he will forever be remembered for his lifelong dedication to this. He likely touched your life by way of his involvement with winter and water skiing, coaching minor hockey, running golf tournaments, the Papa Joe Rides, every event that ever needed a bar in Mattawa, his Limousine Service, his Cleaning Service, his Pizza Shop, Ogies Edge Skate Sharpening, his Ski Rental Shop, Boards Honey...just to name a few!  Roger will be greatly missed but will be forever in our memories and hearts.  Rest in Peace!

A Celebration of Life will take place later this spring in June. The details will be announced at a later date.
