September 28, 1963 - August 9, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Leela. Proud Mother to Stephanie Rittenhouse and Mother-in-Law to Kate Mercer. Adored Grandmother to Shae, Casey, Leo and Jaxon. Beloved Daughter to John. Treasured Sister to Dina (Bob), Lisa (Michael), Jim (Madeleine), Della and Derek. She will also live on in the memories of her nieces and nephews and their children; Celine (Chris), Ian (Laura), Cameron (Amanda), Kayla, Alisha (Brad), Jay (Rachel), Sabrina, Kimmy, Shayla, Jennie, Katie (Dan). Leela will also be missed by her many cousins and friends. Welcoming Leela into heaven with open arms are; adored Son Andrew, loving Mother Dora, fun Brother Mike, sweet Sister-in-Law Lisa, and dear Friends, Laura, Tom, Marcel and Helen.

Leela had a very fun-loving, generous, joyful and silly personality. Her contagious laugh will be remembered forever. She was very outgoing and loved volunteering for the Community Heritage Railway and Carousel. She enjoyed attending the North Bay Farmers Market, and loved to bring others joy and spread kindness with her cockatiel bird, Jimi. The adventurous big kid-like fun that Leela so genuinely radiated will be forever in our memories and our hearts.

A private celebration of life will be held for family and close friends. It will take place on Saturday August 26th, 2023 by invitation. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.martynfh.com.
