Obituary for Raymond Smith

Raymond Smith
SMITH: Raymond
“On the wings of a snow white dove he sent his pure sweet love from the Sky's up above on the wings of a dove. “Today our loved one took his solo flight on the wings of a dove to meet his lord and saviour in heaven. It is with heavy hearts we had to let him go into Jesus's loving arms and to be reunited with family that went before him.
It is with immense sorrow to announce the passing of Ray Smith, on December 6th, 2017. Ray died in the arms of his beloved wife, Almira. Theirs was the greatest love story ever known; friends for 79 years, married for 62.
Ray was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force and served his country with a great sense of pride! He was the founder and former owner of Smith Feed and Farm Supply.
He is survived by his wife, Almira, Sons, Raymond (Florence), Bradley (Judy); daughters, Beth (George) & Leann (Denis), adopted daughters, Bonnie & Michelle; his grandchildren, Mitchell, Christopher, Shannon, Ryan, Juleann, Emily-Ann, & Victoria and great grandchildren, Hayden & Alexis; Nephew Raymond Rabliauskas, great nephews, Paul, Norway & James and great nieces, Jennifer & Nicolette as well as many friends and his loving companion and protector Hunter. Thank you for the outstanding care to the nurses and staff on c-3, and Tammy & Connie of ParaMed and the Rehab staff at Phara. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Heather Bovair, Dr. Reed & Dr. Gushe.
Visitation will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home, on Friday, December 8th from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M and at Bethel Gospel on Saturday from 10:00-11:00am. A Funeral Service will be held at the Bethel Gospel Chapel, on Saturday December 9th at 11:00 am. Spring interment at the Pine Hills Cemetery, Mattawa. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Bethel Gospel Chapel would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at
